Auto-Budget Credit/Debit Card (ABCC) provides automated expenditure
classification when the customer pays by credit or debit card rather than
by the ABC check. The key to ABCC's simplicity is that expenditure classification
is effortless at the point of sale and transparent to the merchant and
customer. During all card transactions, a modified card reader automatically
includes information about the expenditure type. The categories are the
same ones as those in the ABC grid. Changing the card reader's expenditure
category requires just one swipe of an ABCC primer card. As with the ABC
system, the bank will process and integrate the classified expenditures,
and offer the customer the same type of convenient data access.
